Name

H. Thompson Milam Jr. Is my full legal name, but Thom Milam or Thompson Milam is what I go by. Thompson for work and Thom for personal life.

Hometown:

Ocean Springs MS though I don’t live there now, I visit at least twice a year.

What is your favorite song for when you need to get your courage up and what was one time you used it?

Rainbow High from Evita hands down. I have used it while getting ready for dates, interviews, auditions, basically anything that would demand courage from me that song has been used. The song is about getting ready and making preparations to be fantastic and showcasing your star quality. It really helps get me energized and puts me in the right state of mind to tackle anything that comes up. I believe I actually quoted it at my last job interview.

If you could only shop at one store, what store would it be?

Herrod’s of London. I may be cheating with this answer but the store literally has everything. I mean EVERYTHING. I can buy a cute outfit, groceries, home furnishings, and a pet all in one location? What is there not to like about it? All the stores of a mall but in one? Sign me up for perpetual use.

If you could sit down with any world leader who would it be and what would you tell them?

I would sit down with Obama. I think the main focus of my discussion with him would be the need for a stimulus for the American people. Helping out the auto or banking industries is all well and good but the economy will not start to thrive again until John and Jane Q. Public have disposable income.

If a travel show went to your hometown what tourist attractions would be on the "Must See" list?

The Walter Anderson Museum. I remember going when I was in elementary school and being fascinated by this local man who made such amazing prints and murals and was a little nutty. He strapped himself to a tree on a barrier island in the gulf during a hurricane. It is already a “must see” location as many celebrities have visited the museum while in the area.

Do you have a blog or website that you'd like to plug?

I do not have a personal website but would like to The Onion, especially the Onion News Network. I worked as the casting coordinator for the Onion News Network for a year and had an amazing time. Plus the Today Now videos crack me up.

Thanks Thom! The Onion is hilarious in print or through video. My favorite Onion articles were the ones about Midstate Office Supply.

Ocean Springs, MS is just such a beautiful and charming town. I was lucky enough to visit a few times while I was in graduate school . Sure it's not Ne w York, where Thom lives now, but if every place looked like New York it would get to be pretty boring.

I miss the "Onion" SO much! When I attended CU in Boulder, I'd read it every chance I got. Nice to meet ya', Thom!
