There's lots of things to love about spring, but there's somethings about spring that i can leave. TORNADOES!!! ooh spooky.
I love thunderstorms, but when those tornado sirens go off our weather radio says 'tornado warning' I get all freaked out. I thnk I get it from when I was a kid and my mom would start emptying out the closet under the stairs so we'd have somewhere to hide while my dad stood on the front porch. Now we have a basement so we can just run downstairs, but it's still scary to know that a thunderstorm could drop a tornado on our front porch.
We've been watching storm chasers the last few seasons and I LOVE it. I just don't love the idea of them being in my 'hood.
I also remember a HUGE tornado when I was in high school in our area. I think this gave me reason to be freaked out. Back then i lived about 30 miles north of this, but now i live maybe 2-3 miles from plainfield where this happened. I remember driving through town afterwards and seeing garbage dumpsters on top of trees and the high school totally flattened.
here's a creepily narrated video about it from the history channel.
Ok so not everything is all gloom and doom. So let's pretend we're on spring break in the keys and get some sun, drink some margaritas and put on our flip flops eh!
"there's plenty of times inbetween trains, so go ahead and drive your car over the tracks!"
I could suffer through all this great weather to wear flip flops and ride my bike around town. *sigh* oh ya hurricaines...hmm well i'd build a bunker or have a private plane or something.

Don't be scared, Teresa. Just because a house landed on your sister, it doesn't mean you have anything to be worried about......
chad: it's the shoes, she had the best shoes!
Do these comments count for your contest? It's my cousins birthday tomorrow, I forgot to buy him something, & a gift card would be sweet.....
yes this counts towards the contest, but it goes until next friday. so you'll have to stop at the gas station and get your cousin a gift there.
I remember just after I moved back to MN from NE, the town I was living in (Kearney, NE) had a tornado rip through there that basically leveled certain areas and even severely damaged the building that I worked out of.
Scary stuff. Somehow I've always loved tornadoes (shhhh don't tell, I'm an insurance agent and I'd get fired for saying that...) and storms in general and I ADORE Storm Chasers. One year I'm going to be monetarily wealthy enough to take an entire spring/summer off and ride along with some other storm chasers.
FUN!
