This weekend is Lollapalooza in Chicago. I've been twice and it was exhausting both times. One of the reasons why we haven't gone the last few years. But it's still fun to read about all the prep for the shows.
Rules for the lolla newbies, warnings to remember to eat, drink lots of water and don't depend on using your phone since AT&T can't handle 100k people in a 4 block radius all texting,
"where RU?"

So instead of Lolla-type fests, lately i've been going to local festivals, not neccesarily to see bands but to get some free entertainment.
fave things about fests:
  1. fried food
  2. stuff to buy everywhere, crafts, merch etc.
  3. people watching
  4. being outdoors
  5. seeing weird new street performers
  6. did i say fried food?
what's your favorite festival food? i cannot pass up the funnel cakes, but have you ever had something like a fried twinkie or alligator? yum!

I've never had alligator at a festival but we did have it when we were in Florida a few years ago. Ironically, it tastes like chicken.

My favorite festival food, probably from years of Arcadia Broiler Dairy Days festivals during my youth, is BBQ chicekn with a carton of orange drink. I know, not you're typical festival food but it's yummy and brings back good memories.
