organization: your pet peeve

There have been a few conversations around cleaning up hot spots in the house, emptying your closet and dealing with clutter. My big beef at our house is that we have more books than the two bookshelves we have can hold, so we have quite a bit of book clutter.
I've also been cleaning out my closet and selling stuff on ebay, much to my delight.
How often do you clean out your closet? I do it at least once a year and have a donations bag that i add to throughout the year.
what are the hot spots in your home and what do you wish you could do?
or what HAVE you done?

Ooh.. the dreaded task of cleaning! I have to admit -- I don't. I hardly cleaned before, and now I just don't do it. I hired a maid.
I straighten and make piles (my desk is the main holder of two large piles). I make sure there isn't anything on the floor and the dishes are washed before she arrives. I clean up my desk of non-pile-able things (which means it probably belongs in my purse or my bag I carry with me to work).
As for clothes, I have three bags collecting dust in the spare room that are waiting for us to make a donation. I'd much rather give it away then try to sell those Clothes. MOST of them are in great condition, hardly worn, but bah... I'd rather take if off my taxes than try to sell and ship.
Now that someone else does the deep cleaning, we find it easier to keep the house 'picked up' (kinda). The dishes are almost always done now, and the kitchen table still collects some mail, but not like before. And I do the laundry a little more often (I think) because its in the basket now instead of on the floor or the couch! Yeah for Maids!!
Oh to have a maid...
When we lived at the apartment, I barely ever cleaned, because what was the point. I hated that place, there was mold in the walls, and nowhere to clear clutter.
Now we live in a house that I absolutely adore! I often clean in small chunks throughout the week and then do some really deep cleaning every couple weeks. Don't get me wrong, there is still clutter (well-hidden) and cobwebs to be found. But in the heavy traffic areas, I take real pride in my clean, moderately-organized home.
