Merce from everywhere!
Merce
I proudly hail from a small province named Batangas, Philippines, however, I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world and live in places like Ashkelon, Israel and Sto. Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Living alone in NC, I just wish I could spend more time at home in Manila period. I miss home. I miss my parents and my brothers and my grandmother dearly. I recently lost my grandfather to cancer. I got to spend some time with him, but if I could, I would love to go back in time and spend more time with him. All the summers and holidays that passed and I just hung around doing nothing, I wish I can bring all that time back and have spent them with my grandparents instead. I plan to go home this summer though, to hang out with my not-so-little-brothers-anymore and everyone else. :) That's going to be heaps of fun!!
Hmmm.... Well, I hate rollercoasters because I hate that stomachless falling feeling... but I love banana boating. It's this thing my family and I tried while we were vacationing at this resort in Puerto Princesa, Philippines. Basically, there's this long inflatable thing that looks like a banana with handles that seats maybe like 5 people and you get on it like you would get on a horse. A speedboat pulls it and you go maybe a good like 30mph? Well anyway, so the guy in charge of the ride sits all the way in the back and he leans from side to side and he tries to tip the banana over while the boat is pulling you. So eventually, the banana becomes very unstable and it tips over and you and the rest of the people hit the water WHILE the boat is still going about 30+mph. In that few seconds between banana/people and water/dark abyss, you kinda see your life flash before your eyes as if jumping off a cliff into black waters. It's insane and such an adrenaline rush. After that, you rise back up and wait until the boat turns around and you get back on the banana for another run. Pure AWESOMENESS!

Merce = energy.
She also is very wise for her young years! Being happy and spending quality time with the people you love should be a priority in your life.
We all have times where our families get on our nerves but I think that Merce makes a really good point here. It's hard to be very far away from your family, on your own somewhere. We've all done it and felt the homesickness associated with it. I've met a lot of international students who had a hard time overcoming that loneliness. Shouldn't you call your mother today? It's my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! You're looking good!
