Monkeeing Around
When I was little I loved watching the Monkees on Nick at Nite and frequently recorded episodes on the families VHS recorder to watch over and over. My big brother would always try to get my goat by telling me that they weren't a real band and that it was faked for the show. Pshaw. As if.
At first the clownish Mickey was my favorite Monkee.
But then later on I decided that Mike Nesmith's strong silent knit capitude was more of what I wanted in a man. He was a hipster way before hipsters were even born.
But then I decided in college that Peter Tork was the one for me....and I guess that I haven't wavered from that.
Are those bathing suits or underpants?
I've never been in to Davy for some reason. How about you? Who is your favorite Monkee?
