Think back to the start of the internet.
Back when it booped at you when it started.
And there were chat rooms.
And everyone had an AOL email.
Mine was BigRed77. Was the 77 big and red? Or what? Was I big and red? I dunno. My daddy made it up.
Then it was NeNe55. Extra points if you get that one.
Then it was Kookamess, my childhood nickname, and some of my Kookamess accounts have stuck around for a long time. I still have a Kookamess hotmail account and my other blog is under Kookamess.
What was your screen name?

my first screen name was 'wallpaper', not for any particular reason other than i needed to think of a name and i was sittng next to my bulletin board where i had put wrapping paper on it like wallpaper. soo creative.
by this was back in the beginning of the internet when people hadn't used up all the words yet and i didn't have to add numbers like yOU :)
I think it was Angel80 because my friend had lots of success with a similar screen name, back when chatting with strangers online was still innocent... lol
Visiting from your FB page, feel free to visit mine at www.facebook.com/sciencesosexy xx
Dude this went down in 1996...
i got you by 2years :) 1994 was my first IRC screen name and email. prior to that i had played oregon trail with a 5 1/4" floppy disk
Teresa has died while fording the river. Your oxen have distemper.
LOL I love Oregon Trail.
Do you remember using the "turtle" to draw?
girl1dir checking in!
Well... it was "girl1" first. Yes -- very original I know. I was a girl and I thought a number would be smart to use. So poof! girl1 was born. Hrmm that was what… back in… 1996?
Then I became an IRC rock star (which means I learned SOME Linux and dos commands) and I became the notorious "girl1dir". It’s more original and entertaining (to me at least).
THEN... I wanted to become invisible to a particular someone, but still wanted to chat on line... so I chose ambigu0us (yes, with a 0, b/c some guy already had it with an 'o'! /me gets mad!). I didn’t want to have a gender associated with me, didn’t want to be hit on, etc. Ahhh… the good ol’ days.
girl1dir and ambigu0us have stayed with me through the years -- I am them, they are me.
And I also remember the turtle application used to dray lines and crap from … FORTH GRADE! :O
There is a flaky version of Oregon Trail on Facebook if you get the hankering to buy some Oxen.
