I just realized that every indie comedy made after 2000 is consciously or at least subconsciously trying to remake the magic of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
If you watch now it's like the epitome of indie comedies. It's poignant, funny, uses weird camera angles and has a quirky delivery.
Must be some kinda weird nostalgia thing the directors have.
