Whatever Wednesday : don't be that guy
What's this? You're wearing the shirt of the band you're going to see? Don't be that guy.
I've been to a few concerts lately where people did NOT go by this rule and this wore their brand new HOT TOPIC purchased t-shirt and thus were beaten up by hipster alterna-nerds and banished from going outdoors for life.
no, not really but they were secretly scorned by hipster alterna-nerds who scoffed at their faux-pas.
The snopes msg boards have some interesting things to say about this and some people are trying to find the origin of this "Rule". #1 if you are going to complain about elitist hipsters coming up with arbitrary rules, don't try to figure out WHY they came up with this arbitrary rule. Just scoff and move on. Otherwise you risk turning into a hipster and then become the thing you hate most.
I liked this guy's comment that there are a few exceptions to this rule:
- Wearing to a concert said band's exceptionally well-preserved but old t-shirt
- Wearing a t-shirt of a band that one of the performing bandmembers was once in/formed as an offshoot (note: not ok in the case of Sebadoh/Dinosaur Jr. or old G'N'R/new G'N'R, e.g.)
Just don't do it ok? Wear your Jersey Shore t-shirt and be ironic instead.
Whatever Wednesday: Music is still my boyfriend
Music is my Boyfriend
Two of my favorite things, Radiohead AND Weezer.

Whatever Wednesday: Snow
Just so you don't forget to appreciate this fine summer weather we're having, here's a look at last winter's SNOWMAGEDDON in Chicago. I mean it's 98f degrees outside, but quit your complaining, at least you don't have to dig out of 5 feet of snow before work. #perspective
Whatever Wednesday: Puppy Lamp
So when I was in high school, it was de riguer to talk on the phone for about 4hours in the middle of the night. What would we talk about? Puppy Lamps. I don't know how this topic came up but we thought it was the most HIL-are-I-OUS thing EVAR. Anytime someone would mention 'Puppy Lamps" we would dissolve into hysterics. No we weren't shopping for a great new light source shaped like puppies...it was just words put together, things that sounded weird.

Would you pay $80 for this? Please let me know who would cuz this is scary.
other things we thought were hilarious?
- driving to the airport and playing on the moving sidewalks in the international terminal (yes pre 9-11 security was non existent)
- driving to a highway oasis and riding the mechanical pony ride
- dancing on the hood of a 1970s gremiln in the parking lot of church to 'everyday is halloween' by ministry
hi eggman :)
Whatever Wednesday: Cowboy money
I've seen some people commenting on the salaries of our president, congressmen, mayors etc. So why not look at some FUN occupations, ya know , things you said you wanted to be when you were 6. What would you be making if you followed your Kindergarten dreams?
I don't see dinosaur digger-upper on this list, so i'll choose cowboy cuz that sounds cooler.

Whatever Wednesday
I'm considering starting a blog that's all about stuff that pisses me off. I think there is plenty of material for that.
Here are my top 3 with no particular theme:
- when you eat at a restaurant and they give you ONE napkin the size of a credit card
- when i get a book from the library and it has food crust stuck to the pages
- when people can't wait for you to back out of your parking spot, so they speed past you and you almost hit them cuz you can't see them past that giant SUV next to you and then there's no one there to witness you be all mad.
whatever Wednesday
When anthropologists find our vhs tape recordings of Americas Funniest What evers in 1000 years they will be certain that we were all morons. --Enjoy
