The start of summer!

What do you do for memorial day? if you don't have plans this year what was your favorite event in the past over memorial day weekend?

We don't generally do anything for Memorial Day.  Sometimes my mom has a BBQ.
if no why not:  My husband usually has jobs that he doesn't get the day off!

The past few years, we've gone to my sister's in Wisconsin. This year, we are hoping to go see my in-laws in upstate NY.

We don't normally do anything for Memorial Day because Tom doesn't like to hang around at places that are likely crowded during a holiday (parks, camping, lakes, etc.), so we just enjoy the time off of work and do our exploring at other times.

I don't remember ever doing anything too elaborate for Memorial Day. But I do like BBQing and relaxing. My parents never like to go anywhere fun on holidays because there are too many people. I get that, but if you get an extra day off for the weekend why not do something.
I just like the idea of kicking off Summer with a fun long weekend of drinking hard lemonade and eating hot dogs :) - Teresa
